Celebrate the Pi Day with the new Raspberry Pi 3 B+!

I didn't believe it when I woke up this morning with a Twit from New Raspberry Pi 3 B+! Same price, new enhanced features commented below:

We already have a good review thanks to the guys from hackaday.comopen in new window. The most remarkable features:

  • A 1.4GHz 64-bit quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 CPU.

  • Dual-band 802.11ac wireless LAN and Bluetooth 4.2.

  • Faster Ethernet (Gigabit Ethernet over USB 2.0).

  • Power-over-Ethernet support (with separate PoE HAT).

  • Improved PXE network and USB mass-storage booting.

  • Improved thermal management.

As we can read, we have a 64-bit architecture with a new SoC Broadcom exclusive and improved 16% over the previous version. We can power the board through the Ethernet port, which is appreciated by those of us who still use this technology. Compatibility is total with their sister boards, so don't worry, just like the accessories and HATs on the market. The wireless chipset has also improved, and apparently gets 1300mbps compared to the 600 we had and dual band with 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz. For the wired network there are also enhancements (yes!) and we get more speed thanks to the Gigabit Ethernet with a new LAN7515 microchip. The processor speed will remain at 1.4 Ghz if the temperature is below 70°C. Otherwise, the speed will be 1.2 Ghz. We will also need at least 2.5A power supply. About the graphic, we continue with the same VideoCore IV 3D, which I hope get more performance soon.

I'm looking forward to having it very soon and being able to squeeze it out to advise you if it's worth acquiring in case you already own the 3. I'll stay informed, so.... Keep in contact!....
