It's been a long time since I've spent time in this section that used to be quite regular. I know you miss it, but I stopped seeing so much interesting information and joined the little time I had, it was abandoned until I saw that this week I can make one more post about all the wonderful things that are happening in the Pi World... Let's go!
I'm surprised by the channel of our well-known youtuber PI LAB. He has been showing up to us videos about Box86 for several months, an environment based on x86 to run mostly video games with the minimum possible emulation. In the words of its creator, qemu for example needs a full x86 chroot to run, and everything is emulated (so you get a high generic compatibility, but you have to emulate everything, and accessing the hardware can be complicated). With Box86, the minimum is emulated. Compatibility may be lower, but many things run natively, leading to some speed increase. And you don't need a full chroot, just a handful of x86 libraries to run things.
Before the end of the year, I would like to say that many things have happened to me, good and bad, but at least we are here to tell you about it. I'm on vacation and I'm going to dedicate it to the house (I'm already an expert in assembling Ikea furniture), the family and also to that leisure time that I sincerely need, and a lot. That's why the first thing I thought was to catch up and save some links I've been most interested in lately. I will also continue updating Google Docs. A couple of days ago the new version of my favorite retrogaming platform was released. As some of you may know, it incorporates Kodi and all the emulators you can imagine without having to do anything but burn it in a microSD and upload the ROMs you want to emulate. Fun is served!. This world of development boards surprises me more and more every day. Press Check online update.
Wait for it to download and a message will appear. Click Proceed to restart and install the update.
